This is part two of a three part series of which we are exploring how to become an influential visionary leader. You can read part one here. If you wish to read a summary of tips, go to this blog here.

If you want to become an influential, visionary leader,
Live Your Vision As If It's Already Happening.
But it hasn’t! So why would I do this Nik? People are going to think I’m delusional! I hear you and yes, some people will think that. But you’re not here for those people who are quick to judge, or want to play it safe and keep things the same or simply can’t see a way out. You are here to ignite the ones that have been waiting for a leader like you, who is ready to create positive, empowering spaces.
So why is living your vision as if it’s already unfolding, so important to the process of realising that vision?
Here’s why.
When you are living as if your vision has already happened several things happen:
You become a role-model of what that vision looks like as an individual
You start to make decisions, think and act in alignment with that vision (because it’s “already here”).
Through this lens, you start to see evidence that it has in fact manifested into reality
And so you become more positive and it becomes a motivating feedback loop for you to do the work to see it come into full fruition!
And with ALL THIS happening for you, right now, you start to see your dream, being created right in front of your eyes.
You start to see your dream, being created right in front of your eyes.
So how do you actually live your vision, now?
You start to act as if your vision is here now. There are two parts to Living Your Vision Now - one is the embodiment piece and the second is how you respond and interact with the world (your external environment). Let’s talk about each in more depth.
The Embodiment Piece
The first thing is you must be the walking billboard of your vision. This is what people refer to as "embodiment" of your vision. It's making the intangible, tangible. You must live your vision, now.
Let me explain what I mean: There are parts of your vision that can be fulfilled right now and they are namely through things within your control like your thoughts, living of your values, your actions and behaviour (this is also tied into the Becoming The Leader That You Need to Be which we covered in this blog).
To live your vision, is to live out what you want to create as the norm in your environment. Show the world what it means to be a Conscious Leader. Show the world what it means to live with kindness as your guide. Show the world what it means to be kind (or whatever other visionary characteristic you have here).
Show the world what it means to live with kindness as your guide.
Too many leaders are waiting for the moment when their vision arrives, to live it. Do you know what I mean? It's akin to the idea of "I'll be happy, when..." kind of mindset. This kind of behaviour, this kind of living of your vision now, is part of how you become the influential leader that positively affect the lives of others now. It’s happening, it’s here, it’s begun.
Interact With The World As If Your Vision Is Unfolding/Has Unfolded.
The second thing you need to do to live your vision is you need to start interacting and responding to your external environment as if your vision is already unfolding or has occurred now.
When you do this, you start to see more and more evidence of how it really is happening, right now. This takes you out of the mindset we talked of earlier - "I'll be happy when..." and into "I am happy (now) because it’s happening! It is already here!”.
As opposed to the previous embodiment part which is the “inner work”, this part is more apparent in the actions and behaviour in response to the world outside of you. When I’m working with my clients, I find that this second part, is often the more challenging of the two because it takes you from the safety and haven of a controllable environment (yourself) to taking those skills into an unpredictable external environment. No matter - this is the practice - taking your inner work to the outer world.
So to interact and respond to the outer world, according to your vision, you need to be clear on your vision. You need to know what that looks like in the external world. You need to know how you would respond and act if that vision was here right now. To get clear on this with my clients I get them to envision their “future self”. Instead of asking “what would my future self do?” you could more precisely ask “what would the version of me, that has created their vision, do?”
What would the version of me, that has created their vision, do?
There is the plan for how you would respond and interact with the world. Use this question in any situation, any decision making, any interaction you have from now.

This Living Of Your Visions Now, on a metaphysical level ignites the principle of "like attracts like" (some call this the Law of Attraction). So when you are living your vision right now, in this moment, you attract more of the same to you, therefore making your the fullness of your vision come into fruition quicker. Living your vision now, accelerates your vision coming into fruition, quicker.
Living your vision now, accelerates your vision coming into fruition, quicker.
——
So to recap: this Living Your Dream Now works in two ways - one in changing who you BE (as we discussed above about being the walking billboard) and two in changing the way you view and respond to or interact with the world (a spin-off of changing your inner landscape).
And it’s not fake or contrived. It’s you being the authentic expression of what you want to see in the world. You could say this is simply "leading by example". Be the leader that inspires others through your own actions. Be the leader that inspires others by holding the vision and living by that vision every day.
